Hello, everyone. My name is Md. Shamim Hossain, and I’m thirteen years old. I live with my mom in a small room at my uncle’s house because my dad left us and doesn’t help us. My mom is amazing and hardworking; she earns a living at a garment factory, but unfortunately, her salary isn’t enough to pay for all the things I need for school. We have to share a single bathroom and kitchen with other people, and I still carry with me the sad memory of the day when a fire swept through the entire slum and destroyed our previous home. Still, I try not to lose hope or my smile. I’m in sixth grade, where my favorite subject is English, and after school I like to play soccer with my friends. I have a huge dream—I want to become a pilot one day, fly among the clouds, and provide a better and safer life for my mom. Will you please help me get an education and get closer to my dream?
