Fire in Chalantika: 54 children have lost their homes!

On Wednesday, March 11, a fire broke out in the Chalantika slum. Ten thousand of the poorest people have lost their homes. Nobody died. However there is despair and hopelessness among the people. They have lost the last thing they had. 54 children from the Chalantika educational center, an affiliated project of BanglaKids, have also alost their homes. The education center itself hasn’t been damaged, as it is located outside the slum in the surrounding area.

Let's help the children from Chalantica!

ADRA is monitoring the situation and is providing on-site assistance, primarily in the form of food and psychological support for our children's families. The families ended up de facto on the street - some live with relatives, others are in a temporary camp built at a nearby public school. Families are already exhausted, the situation is unbearable. We are waiting for the reaction of the local authorities, whether they will offer any help or allow the rebuilding of the slum.

By sending any amount, you will allow us to provide our children's families with urgent help in the form of hot food.

Thank you.
