Fancy some watermelon? A refreshing treat for the children at BASC
There were smiles all round at BASC boarding school in Bangladesh as the children enjoyed a watermelon feast. Judging by the reports and photos, it went down a treat!
Watermelon is an ideal choice in Bangladesh’s hot climate. It is more than 90% water, making it a great way to stay hydrated, and it also contains vitamins A and C and beneficial antioxidants. For the children, though, it is above all a sweet, refreshing treat that adds variety to their everyday meals.
Thanks to you, children are growing up healthy and happy
For many children in Bangladesh, regular meals and the chance to go to school cannot be taken for granted. Thanks to BanglaKids donors, the children supported by the programme at boarding schools have:
-
The opportunity to learn and develop their skills.
-
Regular meals to support healthy growth and development.
-
A safe place to live and the medical care they need as they grow up.
School life is also about spending time together and enjoying small pleasures, such as this watermelon feast. Take a look at the photo gallery below and share in the children’s joy!
Thank you for helping children in Bangladesh go to school, thrive and enjoy their childhood.
