Children's playground instead of half a pond
A playground for sports, games and children's fun was built on the site of half a pond at the village school of Koligram in southern Bangladesh. The work included the construction of a dividing dam, filling the pit with sand, levelling, installation of children's swings and mini-goals. Many thanks to donors and our Bangladeshi colleagues. Children will be very happy.
The playground shines with novelty and is waiting for the arrival of small schoolchildren. Even during a pandemic, we strive for their healthy development and happiness. During breaks and free time, they will have space for movement, children's games, fooling around and friendly conversation.
Work to build a playground included building a dam in the middle of the pond, which separated the neighbour's part from the school's. Subsequently, the area of the former pond was filled with river sand in two stages. It was pumped from a cargo ship moored on a nearby river using water pumps to its destination. The village school Koligram has the advantage that it lies close to the river. After filling the pond with sand and comparing the surface of the playground, 4 two-seater swings, 4 hanging swings and 2 mini goals were manufactured and installed.
Bangladeshi children in the villages are not used to something like this, so we are already looking forward to their glowing eyes and great joy. Together we help them to have a better life.
