Solidary Contribution Provides Each Child with Lunch
What pops up on your mind when you say ‘lunch’? In our case, it is a lunch provided for children at village schools in Bangladesh. During the monitoring trip, we re-verified the importance of providing children from the poorest families with a lunch. Little schoolchildren often go to school without having a breakfast, and school lunch is their first (and sometimes the only) meal.
The school is therefore a place not only for education but also for solving the situation in the community and helping families living in extremely harsh conditions. We wondered how to ensure the basic need of all children - to eat - and at the same time how to fund lunches for children who study at school but are not supported by the BanglaKids program.
The solution is the so-called solidary contribution of 50 CZK (approx. 2,2 USD). We are going to introduce it as a top-up to monthly support for children in rural schools from 1st July. Thanks to this financial contribution, we will be able to provide all schoolchildren in the villages with a lunch regardless being included in the BanglaKids program or not. Direct-child support has a wider positive impact on the entire community, not just on selected families.
During June, we will contact all donors who support children in village schools with a request to increase their payments by 50 CZK per month. Thank you for your support and trust. We are honoured to be able to help together!
